Using the « SalesRule Add-On » for creating sales promotions with Downloadable Products

Installation of the SalesRule add-on for DownloadPlus is the same as for the DownloadPlus extension itself.

This add-on allows to create shopping cart rules for sales promotions related to already purchased Downloadable Products or Downloadable Links. It is adding a product selection and promotion action condition that is comparing if one Downloadable Product or Downloadable Link currently in the cart have been already purchased by the currently logged in customer.

With that sales promotions on re-purchase of Downloadable Products and Downloadable Links are possible to be created.

Create a new Shopping Cart Price Rule as for any other promotion using Promotions » Shopping Cart Price Rules.

This add-on is adding a rule condition for Downloadable Products:


The condition has options to match the downloadable product:

• purchased checks of the product is already purchased by the currently logged in customer.
• purchased and available for download checks of the product is already purchased by the currently logged in customer, and if it is available for download.
• purchased and is expired checks of the product is already purchased by the currently logged in customer, and if it has expired for download.

If the Downloadable Product has one or more Downloadable Links associated, then this rule condition is met if the customer has already purchased one of the related Downloadable Links of the Downloadable Product.

For the related action (e.g. to grant a discount for re-purchase as shown here), the cart item rule added allows to check if the purchased Downloadable Link has been already purchased:


The added Rule Conditions are also usable in combined conditions.
